Ecology Club spent the month of April making Sebring more beautiful! The club spent time cleaning up litter around Sebring but also promoted Earth Day in our schools. Ecology Club hosted two contests promoting Earth Day: a coloring contest for BL students and an Earth-day themed poem or artwork contest for McKinley students. Well done, Ecology Club, on making our school a better place!

It's awards season at Sebring! Take a look at these Award Season Snapshots from our recent Academic Awards:

Mrs. Mathias' senior English students participated in a special "Senior to Senior" experience this school year. What began as an assignment to strengthen students' interview and reporting skills, ended up establishing meaningful and lasting relationships with the residents of Copeland Oaks.
Each month senior Trojans visited the senior citizens at Copeland Oaks to complete a special writing assignment, usually consisting of an interview component and a follow-up report. The assignments were guided by monthly themes such as a Valentine's Day party and most recently, a graduation party for residents to celebrate our Trojan seniors.
The Senior to Senior project has been an enriching experience for students and Copeland residents alike, providing opportunities for connection and communication that spans generations! Take a look at some photos from this month's graduation gathering at Copeland!

Mrs. Lee's American Government class recently participated in an engaging field trip to the Village of Sebring, where students had the opportunity to see local government in action. Guided by Mayor Wright and the town manager, the class toured several key municipal departments that keep the village running smoothly. Students visited the police and fire stations, where they learned about public safety responsibilities and emergency response. They also explored the water and wastewater treatment plants to better understand how essential services like clean drinking water and sanitation are managed. In addition, the service department shared how they maintain roads, infrastructure, and public spaces throughout the community.
This hands-on experience gave students a deeper understanding of how local government operates on a daily basis and the important roles each department plays in serving the public. As a follow-up to the trip, students will choose one department that interests them most and participate in a job shadowing experience next week. This will allow them to gain a closer look at a specific area of local government and explore potential career interests while connecting classroom learning to real-world applications.

Our Trojans took on the English Festival at Youngstown State University. High school and middle school students participated in literary-based activities and contests with students from the tri-county area. Students also had the opportunity to hear presentations from authors and meet students from other schools in the area. Way to represent the Trojans!
