Reminder!

Trojans support each other! A shout-out to Mrs. Mathias and her Success and Wellness students who have been busy unloading, organizing, and stocking the food pantry. This is a true Trojan team effort as Mrs. Malloy picks up and loads items and Mr. Miller assists with unloading.

Congratulations to our 2025 Fall Homecoming Court!

Third grade recently learned about the history of The United States Constitution with virtual reality headsets. Students were able to virtually visit prominent historical locations as our country was officially being formed. The places visited included: The Besty Ross house, Liberty Bell and Constitution Hall, Pentagon, 9/11 locations.

We are starting our week with "Hello"!
"Start with Hello" is a nation-wide initiative to encourage kindness, understanding, and acceptance amongst our students. Sebring recently participated in "Start with Hello" activities that encourage students to be the "I" in kindness and to celebrate the concept of understanding each other. Take a look at our kind Trojans!

Today's "New Trojan Team Member" feature is more like a "welcome home"! Miss Whaley is a new 2nd grade teacher, but she is a Trojan! Miss Whaley graduated from Sebring in 2021 and now she's back as a teacher. Let's welcome Miss Whaley home!

A few weeks ago, we marked the somber anniversary of 9/11. B.L. students may not have been born to experience the tragedy of 9/11, but they paid tribute to our nation's bravest with a meaningful Patriot Day display which still remains in the hallway of B.L.

Students with special abilities were celebrated at "Champions Day" last week. The annual event is a day of athletic events and fellowship, allowing students from area school districts to participate in the "Friday Night Lights Experience" with fall sports, band, and cheerleading. Our Sebring Trojans had a blast with the nearly 200 other students at the event!

Our district firmly believes in providing career pathway exploration opportunities to our students; it’s why Sebring Local Schools recently scored 5/5 stars for College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness on the State Report Card. Our students visited last week’s Trades Expo for some experiential learning! Students were able to interact with professionals in a variety of skilled trades as we continue our mission to prepare our Trojans for success after graduation!

Our first "Sebring Shout-Out" of the year goes to B.L.'s Student Senate. All year we will be recognizing Trojans who are expanding their classroom knowledge with experiences, participating in meaningful extracurricular activities, being recognized in special ways, or simply going the extra mile for our Trojan community.
B.L.'s Student Senate launched their popcorn sales project, making and selling popcorn to benefit their various projects throughout the year. Way to go Trojans!

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Lisa Shelatz to our Trojan Team! Mrs. Shelatz is our new teacher for our Gifted Program. Welcome!

McKinley students have exceeded expectations and set a school record recently: We are proud to announce that McKinley has achieved a 100% graduation rate for two consecutive years!
Prior to 2024, McKinley had come close to accomplishing a 100% graduation rate, but came up short. Now, as a result of the discipline and persistence of our students, the unparalleled dedication of our staff, and the consistent support of our community, we celebrate back-to-back graduation rates.
Please join us in commending the efforts of our students and staff. We are proud Trojans!

Senora Thagard continued her tradition of immersing her Honors Spanish 4 students in Hispanic culture. Students traveled to Jalisco Cantina in Alliance to order Mexican cuisine and converse in Spanish for the trip. Students had a wonderful time and a delicious meal.

Today we proudly present the results of our State Report Card. These results reflect the consistent diligence and partnership between our students, teachers, and community.
Together, we have improved our district's State Report Card by an entire star. We have also been awarded designations of "exceeding state standards" in the areas of graduation, early literacy, and college, career, workforce, and military readiness. Our Trojans have exceeded expectations. We hope to continue our upward momentum all year long! Thank you for your support!

Senora Thagard’s Spanish 3 and Spanish 4 students worked together in an outdoor activity. Spanish 4 students used sidewalk chalk to illustrate 18 commonly used Spanish verbs. Spanish 3 students then had to identify and label the illustrations using the correct Spanish verb.

Our district strives to create a safe and comfortable learning environment for our Trojans. Over the summer we made prudent use of our funds for facility improvements to our district roofs and boiler system. The projects were completed last month.
