Success After 6 is back!

What We Are Learning Wednesday:
Third grade students were treated to a presentation from the Historical Society about how children learned and played in the past. Students observed a presentation and even had the chance to play with primitive toys that would have been used during recess.

It was a beautiful day to "Pie a Teacher" recently at B.L. Miller! Student Senate hosted the event as a fundraiser in which students paid for a ticket to "pie" a teacher. Student Senate also gave each participant an ice cream sandwich to thank everyone for their support.
Pictured is second grader, Dresden, winding up! A fun day for all (with the exception of the pied teachers😉)

We honor and remember the fallen who have served this country today, Memorial Day. We will see you tomorrow when classes resume.

When a chick from third grade's hatching project was born with a broken leg, sixth grade students hatched a plan to help!
Earlier this year, students in Mrs. Naples' class completed an orthosis project in which they created braces using the 3D printer for cerebral palsy patients. The project challenged students to create various prototypes for braces, scaling them to a variety of sizes. Students applied this concept to assist the chick.
Take a look at our helpful Trojans applying what they've learned to help Tiny the chick with a leg brace. Our helpful Trojans event made the news! Check out the news story here:

The time is dwindling down for the Class of 2025 to be in our hallways, but the seniors will forever leave their mark at Sebring. Seniors are finishing up their wall blocks in the student lounge, a beloved senior tradition at McKinley!

Check out our long list of Trojan winners. Way to shine Trojans!

Mrs. Hollback’s Ecology Club students had a wonderful experiential learning opportunity with their recent zoo field trip. Take a look at our Trojans learning outside of a traditional classroom setting:

We have one full week left of school and a short week next week, Trojans! Let's swing for the fences and finish strong!

Our high school and middle school students took in a poignant presentation from an anti trafficking organization called “Free Three”.
The presentation enforced part of our Trojan mantra, "Trojans are respectful, responsible, and safe." Students were educated on what human trafficking is, the types of trafficking, who and how people are targeted, and how to stay safe.
The discussion empowered students with information that can help keep them and their peers safe; a paramount focus of our district. Please scroll to the second image for a QR code to be used if anyone is need of help.

We are proud to announce that our district has been the Auditor of the State Award for a clean audit for the 2024 fiscal year. Jennifer Drlik (left) from Auditor of State's Office presented the award to district Treasurer/CFO, Dawn Welsch (center), and Sherri Malloy (right), Treasurer's Assistant.

We conclude our Senior Spotlight series by recognizing the Top of the Class of 2025. Congratulations!

Our fighting Trojans have been working hard this Spring. Here is a special spotlight of our track athletes.

Mrs. Laure’s and Mrs. Householder’s third grade students have been patiently waiting for their chicks to hatch. Students have been learning about habitats with this interactive annual project.
Students have been tracking the progress of the eggs on a chart. They have also been journaling temperature and humidity each day. The chicks hatched on April 29 and now students will chart their growth. Check it out!

A big Sebring Shout Out to Allison Hoschar who achieved 300 career strikeouts for Trojan softball. Way to go Allison!

✨SENIOR SPOTLIGHT ✨ Trojan Class of 2025 🎓
✨ Congratulations to Valedictorian Kiera Weekly! ✨

Sebring McKinley students celebrated Law Day this last week with a variety of activities.
Attorney Lori Shells-Simmons visited Mrs. Lee's government class to speak with students on Wednesday. On Thursday, Kiera Weekly and Kristal Giron shadowed the Honorable Judge Joseph L. Schiavoni, observing actual cases in action at the Sebring Courthouse. Following this, they met up with Mrs. Lee and students Zachary Todd, Mia Somerville, Emily Wright, Jay Zheng, and Angelo Vecchio for the Mahoning Valley Law Day Luncheon. We are proud of the way these students represented the Trojans!
