Dozens of B.L. Miller Elementary students didn't begin their school year in typical fashion. Over sixty students enjoyed an afternoon of swimming at the Alliance YMCA as a reward for completing a summer workbook challenge. Teachers and Mrs. Nichole Hanley, principal of B.L. Miller Elementary, escorted students for the special field trip, starting the year with a splash!
Each summer, Principal Hanley challenges students to complete a workbook during summer break. The challenge aims to keep students scholastically engaged,
making for an easier transition back to school.
The challenge was so successful that sixty-one students
were treated to
an afternoon of swimming
to celebrate
their accomplishments.
