Sebring Students Honor Veterans in Veterans Day Assemblies

Veterans Day 2022

November 11, 2022

On Friday, November 11, 2022, Sebring students at McKinley Jr./Sr. High School and B.L. Miller Elementary welcomed veterans for special assemblies featuring music, readings, and thanks expressed from across the district.

Both assemblies began with the singing of the Star Spangled Banner, led by the Sebring McKinley High School choir. Students sang more songs and read poems and other readings about veterans and the freedoms they serve and protect. Sebring Police Chief Ray Harris, an Army veteran with 21 years of service, spoke at both assemblies.

Following the B.L. Miller assembly, the building’s kindergarten, first and second grade students lined the hallways, waving flags and displaying artwork that read ‘Thank you’ as veterans made their way from the assembly.
