Six Sebring students from third through fifth grade showed off their spelling skills in B.L. Miller’s annual Spelling Bee on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
Two students from each of the grades earned their place in the competition through classroom spelling bees.
The six students took the stage in the B.L. Miller Elementary gym in front of their peers and family members. After ten rounds of spelling, two students remained. The two fifth graders continued through another seven rounds, when Hunter offered the correct spelling of his competitor’s word ‘cog’ and cemented his victory with the correct spelling of the word ‘poor.’
Hunter will represent B.L. Miller at the upcoming 21WFMJ Spelling Bee. McKinley eighth grade student Jayda will join him in representing Sebring at this regional competition in March.
