The classes at B.L. Miller were filled with extra lots of love and kindness during our Valentine's Day parties! Thank you to Stanley Leone for speaking to our students, staff and family members throughout the school year on the subject of trauma. Our Kindergarten classes are 100 days smarter! A job well done to all of this year's Spelling Bee participants! Our 2nd Grade Classes had lots of fun interviewing with Santa for an Elf job at the North Pole! Our students learned a lot about fire safety and how to be prepared in school and at home! Our 2nd graders put on a delightful Harvest program for families and our PTO provided a delicious Thanksgiving lunch! Our Kindergartners enjoyed dressing up as turkeys and eating a delicious Thanksgiving lunch! Millcreek Metro Parks Farm taught our 3rd grade students about harvesting and the very first Thanksgiving! Thank you to all veterans for your dedication and service to our country. Congratulations to our newly elected 5th grade Student Senate! Our kindergarten classes enjoyed their apple orchard tour on a field trip to White House Fruit Farm. Our students did an awesome job with their summer reading logs and enjoyed our picnic celebration! Positive messages can be seen throughout the walls inside both school buildings. Our students are ready to learn and looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year! Sebring Local Schools are 1 to 1 in technology, meaning each student has his/her own Chromebook. Smaller class sizes means more personalized instruction for Sebring students. Sebring Local Schools are 1 to 1 in technology, meaning all students have his or her own Chromebook. Twenty four elementary students were rewarded with an afternoon at the park for meeting their summer reading challenge.

This all call has very important reminders.  Remember all "all calls" can be read from our BL Miller website.

As you know, students do have school tomorrow, Monday the 16th.  Teachers will be sending home classwork for the next 3 weeks.  Students that bring  home Friday Food Club bags will also be bring a bag home tomorrow.  That means students hands will be extra full.  They may need an extra hand as they get off the bus. This is not a break.  Students are expected to complete the work sent home. Families not attending school Monday & whose parents don't pick up the required work will have home visits to drop off expected work.  Teachers will be working from home.

Then Starting Tues. Mar.17th- Fri. Apr. 3rd we are closed. Students are to return Mon. Apr. 6th.

Any and all meetings or activities scheduled for BL Miller until April 6th are canceled - including our 5th grade parent camp meeting. We are also canceling our April 9th our Music Concert, since there is enough time for practices. We will reschedule Fun Fair, the Art Show, & 5th Camp Meeting once we return.

Did you  know every grade donates a basket to fun fair?  Have you helped your child's grade by donating to their basket? Ask  your child what kind of basket they are building if you would like to donate.

Fun Fair PreSale Game Tickets are on sale this week until the close of school Friday for 5/$1.00.  After 2:30PM Friday Game tickets will be sold during the Fair for the the regular price of 4/$1.00. 

If you have never been to Fun Fair - come check us out!  Fun Fair is this Friday March 13th 5-8 PM We will  have over 45+ raffle baskets!  Raffle Basket tickets are $1 each or 6/$5.00.

Lastly, Good Luck to our DI team and Spelling Bee Champ Marissa Gatewood as they compete this Saturday at YSU!

A change for this month is that our Snicket Sale is this coming Thursday instead of our usual Friday.  On Friday the kids will be served an afternoon snack of Green Eggs and Ham. 

This year, all US citizens will be asked to participate in the 2020 Census.  The US has a census every 10 years.  Students will be learning about the Census and why it is important that everyone participates and takes it seriously.  The information collected from our census is used to determine how federal money will be spent.  Specific to education, the census is used to fund special education, teacher trainings, technology, free school meals, and Head Start. it's big deal and we want to makes sure our kids know we are all being counted.

This Wednesday February 26th is our Kindergarten Registration Day.  If you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 30th of this year, please give us a call to choose a time for Feb. 26th to enroll so that we can meet you & your child while you enroll!  We will also do a few activities with each soon to be Kindergartner to better understand how to grow his/her learning.  Again we hope to meet our newest faces Wed. This message is for the parents our bus riders. There is a change in buses for the ride home this afternoon and possibly tomorrow morning.  Mr. Mike will still be the bus driver. If Mr. Mike is not driving a Sebring bus at the bus stop he will be driving Alliance City school bus #8. You are personally invited you to attend a Trauma Sensitive Parenting event led by Nationally known speaker Stanley Leone.  The free event will be held this Thursday February 6th at 5:30 pm in McKinley’s auditorium.  The event includes a delicious catered free full-course dinner.  We will have conversations about building communication with your children and learning about various parenting strategies. RSVPs are required and were sent home with your child last Friday.  The final RSVP is due tomorrow Monday, February 3rd.  If you misplaced your invitation flyer, RSVPs may be made by calling your child's school or sending a note.  Free babysitting during the event and pizza for your child will be provided.  I hope you will consider joining us!

This week we have 2 big events!  This Tuesday & Wednesday, 5th grade students will be working with Dr. Kate Cirillo throughout their day, reinforcing the idea "We Should Be Our Best!" We also have our Winter Dance this Friday.  Grades K-2 will dance from 4:30-5:30.  Grades 3-5 will dance from 5:30-6:30.  Admission cost $1.  Our D.I. team will have pizza, snacks, and drinks on sale.  Proceeds are for our D.I.  As a reminder, only fingerprinted chaperones are permitted within our dance area, the same rule as our normal school day.
