Today our School Crisis Team, which included Sebring administration as well as counselors from surrounding communities, met with students and staff affected by this tragedy. The Crisis Team provided grief education, brief information on the incident, and provided emotional support to all concerned.
You may have questions about how to respond or help your child after the loss of someone so instrumental in all of our lives. Your school family is here to support you through this as you may have questions about your child’s reactions to this tragedy.
It would not be unusual for your child to behave and express themselves differently during the next few weeks. Such an incident can have a profound effect on students, even if they were not directly involved with Danny. Information found on the back of this letter will help you identify the different kinds of reactions you might expect to see. In addition, handouts are available on our website offering information on grief and how this incident may affect your child. If you have any further concerns or questions please contact your child’s principal or school counselor.
Thank you very much for your concern.
