Military Support

The BL Miller Elementary School staff values the many families that live in our community who have ties to the military. We understand that the military youth go through unique circumstances and we want every military family to know we are here to help.

BL Miller honors those who are veterans or current service members of all branches of the United States Armed Forces, including the National Guard or Reserves in the following ways:

  • Free admission to all Sebring Local School's events that are hosted at Sebring's campuses.
  • Fall Football game designated as military recognition night.
  • On the anniversary of 9-11, students and staff show respect by having a moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives and for those who serve to protect our freedom.
  • Veteran's Day Celebration -  The students at BL Miller Elementary School line the hallways on Veteran's Day, holding flags, cheering and clapping as the honorees are escorted to the gymnasium.  A commemorative program is conducted by students in the fourth through sixth grades.  Military guests from each branch of the United States Armed Forces are asked to stand and be recognized while the theme song for their branch is played. The celebration ends with the playing of Taps.  Upon completion of the program, the military guests and families are invited to the cafeteria for punch and cookies.
